Subject: Market Update: FOMC Outcome and Market Impact Analysis

Dear SPR Premium Subscribers,

The Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged at today’s FOMC meeting, but the market interpreted the overall outcome as relatively hawkish, leading to increased market volatility throughout the session.

The most important shift from this meeting was the Fed’s policy stance going forward. The Federal Reserve revised its inflation outlook upward, while several committee members signaled the possibility of additional rate hikes. As a result, expectations for rate cuts later this year weakened noticeably.

U.S. equities initially moved in a mixed pattern before selling pressure intensified sharply toward the latter part of the session. Technology and growth-oriented sectors, particularly the Nasdaq, experienced relatively stronger weakness. Meanwhile, Treasury yields moved higher and the U.S. dollar strengthened, as the market viewed this FOMC meeting not simply as a rate pause, but as confirmation of a potentially prolonged high-interest-rate environment.

Due to these developments, today’s U.S. market experienced a rapid increase in downside pressure during intraday trading, resulting in a temporary and excessive imbalance between buying and selling flows. However, buying momentum is expected to recover as early as tomorrow, which should help stabilize the current imbalance in market liquidity and sentiment.

In addition, the excessive volatility triggered by the FOMC announcement has temporarily altered the short-term outlook for certain stocks. Nevertheless, the majority of stocks are expected to attract dip-buying demand following today’s excessive decline, potentially leading to a relatively quick recovery in price action.

Accordingly, the current volatility appears to be more closely related to short-term liquidity and sentiment dislocations rather than a structural deterioration in overall market conditions. The broader market direction and stock-specific outlooks are expected to become clearer within the next 1–2 trading days.

At this stage, market movements remain within the range of anticipated volatility, although short-term sensitivity to interest rate expectations and inflation-related developments is likely to persist. We will continue to provide detailed updates regarding key market turning points and future trend developments through our upcoming reports.

Thank you.
