Subject: U.S. Market Rebound Update | January 21 Market Commentary

Dear SPR Premium Subscribers,

The U.S. equity market rebounded on Wednesday, January 21, recovering a large portion of Tuesday’s sharp decline.

In particular, President Donald Trump announced that the previously signaled 10% tariffs on eight European countries opposing the Greenland annexation initiative will not be imposed. He explained that, following a productive meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, a framework for future negotiations regarding Greenland has been established. Based on this understanding, the administration decided to suspend the tariffs that were scheduled to take effect on February 1.

As a result, the U.S. market— which had sold off sharply on Tuesday due to sudden external political risk factors — showed a strong rebound on Wednesday as those concerns were rapidly reversed and contained within a single day.

As mentioned in yesterday’s update, we expect this rebound momentum to continue into early next week. However, after that point, upside momentum is likely to gradually weaken, with more choppy and range-bound price action potentially emerging during the mid-to-late part of next week.

Given that new external variables are emerging on a daily basis, it is important to remain mindful that market volatility could expand again depending on future developments.

Should you have any questions or wish to discuss the outlook in more detail, please feel free to contact us at any time. We are always happy to assist.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.

Best regards,
